How to sparkle and shine your way into the New Year.
Hurray! Christmas is nearly here! This time of year makes me very happy. Mainly because it gives me the chance to indulge in my love of all things shiny, sparkly and gorgeous. Even the wrappers on Quality Street chocolates are enough to make my day. I’m such a magpie.
If you need party wear inspiration, look no further! I’ve got your back in this blog post. Whether you are looking for a new frock to party the night away in, or separates for a more sedate affair.
If none of these light your bulb, why not get in touch? I could help you find the perfect piece in under an hour with my Remote Styling service. (I’d need to ask you a few questions in advance to give me an understanding of your style and then we’d hop on a Skype call where I can show you my ideas.) Lots of my clients have done this at Christmas, when there are so many other things to do BESIDES shopping.
A ‘watching the pennies’ dress
This is a real bargain for such a pretty dress. The downside is: it’s dry clean only so will end up costing you more over the years.
In my imagination, I’d team this with metallic strappy heels, silver earrings and a cocktail ring. In real life, I wouldn’t wear this because my personal style is ‘Dramatic and Classic’ (check out this blog post if you have NO idea what I’m on about) so actually I wouldn’t look my best wearing it because the lace and prettiness make it very ‘Girly’ in style. Too bad!
The obligatory LBD
When a dress is as beautifully cut at this and you can glam it up in all manner of ways, it’s worth every penny. AND it has sleeves!
Don’t like dresses? Try separates.
This skirt will be very flattering if you have a pear-shaped figure type. The A-line shape skims over your hips and the off-the-shoulder top broadens your shoulders.

Shiny and sparkly options
If you prefer trousers, you can’t beat a bit of velvet and/or sparkle. These trousers are cut for someone with a much smaller waist than hips, so if you are forever hitching up your trousers that are too big around the waist, give these a try.
And this glitzy top will add some Christmas sparkle.
Something other than black
I adore this dress. Look at the sleeves! A bit of sparkle around the neckline and this will be a winner. It’s a modest length, covers your arms and skims over any wobbly bits. This shape is particularly flattering if you carry weight around your middle.
Whichever outfit you choose this party season, wear it with confidence and have a bloomin’ fabulous time!
